Once the plant starts flowering, they will develop and develop into bunches that almost appear to be grapes.
I’ve also noticed that sometimes (though never!) the stipules on male plants seem more “leafy” and less “pointy” than stipules on feminine plants (the stipules will be the green hair-like growths near where pre-flowers arrive).
